can anyone recommend a good dry or wet dog food for dogs with Colitis as it looks like Tank is getting inflammed intestines again, we have noticed that he has yellow mucus on his poo and its going hard and soft in the same poo. He had normal poos after coming home from the vets (they had put him on Royal Canin sensitivity chicken and rice wet food) after his nasty stomach bug but since we have put him back on his dry hypo allergenic food (from Heights Farm Pet Foods) he seems to have lost his bounce a little. Im not sure if we spotted a little mucus in Eddies poo today either,....The vets couldn't find a reason for his stomach bug but im sure they said they didnt find any Giardia or campylobactor in his poo but im not convinced. I have wormed him and Eddie today to see if that helps his intestines as parasites and worms can cause inflammed intestines but we are thinking of just moving them onto a sensitive diet all together. As any pet owner knows, dogs can be unpredictable; therefore, dogs may prefer the taste of one wet dog food over another for no apparent reason. Always be sure to check the ingredient label before purchasing, especially if your dog has a sensitive stomach or food allergies. It is recommended that this canned dog food should be stored in cool environments so that it retains its moist and soft texture.
