"When you trust a collar with your dog's life, you want it to be made by Hogan Leather."Linda ~ Waitsfield, VT
We didn't have incredibly high expectations for this collar due to the price. It was surprisingly high quality and should have a long life on our field dog. The leather work was also high quality
This collar is really well made. I've looked around for a rolled leather collar for my Pomeranian as her hair matts with any other collar. They're hard to find- first of all but secondly, the ones I've seen aren't as nice and are more expensive. This collar exceeded my expectations! I doubt it will ever wear out but if it does, I'll for sure order again. In the mean time, I'll definitely recommend HotDogCollars to all my friends with dogs.

It’s important. A collar is a universal signal to others that your pet has an owner and will carry valuable information, such as the most recent rabies vaccination, and your name and address, so your dog can be returned to you if he ever gets lost. Before cleaning your dog's leather collar, it is important to look at what kind of leather it is to help determine which cleaning method and products work best. If you use the wrong cleaning or conditioning product, you are at risk of damaging or altering the surface and color of the leather. Check the dog collar for a tag detailing specific cleaning instructions, if not clean according to the type of leather. Unfinished leather is more pliable because it is untreated with pigments like finished leather. Although unfinished leather had rich coloring and is softer, it is more vulnerable to staining and fading and is not water resistant. This type of leather is not typically the best choice for dog collars especially if your dog is an outdoor dog. Washing with saddle soap is a safe method for cleaning that does not discolor or stain the dog collar. To wash with , pour a small amount onto a cloth and lather onto the collar. Then, take a damp cloth and wipe away the soap and allow the collar to air dry. When letting the collar air dry, place it in a shady place because allowing it to dry in the sun has the risk of fading or even shrinking.
