I make a very large purchase of Kirkland Puppy, Kirkland Lamb and Rice, Chicken and Rice, Beef, Maintenance and also the Salmon each month. I have never had the problems described here unless my dogs had a virus. I do live in a different area, but I believe that all of the products come out of the same manufacturing plants. I know it is easy to blame the food, but you should make sure that you are not dealing with a virus. You can bring it in on your shoes, birds bring it in, flies, you never know. You think just because your dog hasn't left the yard that nothing has come in. You have no idea.
Now, if I start to see an issue in my dogs, I will suspect something has changed. But for now, I highly recommend the food. I start all of my puppies on Kirkland puppy food and then switch over to the Salmon at about 4 months for the Bernese to slow the growth. The Portuguese Water Dogs continue to get a mixture of Puppy and Salmon.

I have bought three varieties of Costco's KIRKLAND Brand dog-food: the puppy mix and the chicken/rice/vegetables and lamb/rice/vegetable mix for adult dogs. The nutritional composition of each matches, then surpasses the even the best national brands. If you compare labels for protein percentages: the puppy food contains 28 % protein, the chicken/vegetable/rice adult dog foods contain 26% protein, and the lamb/rice/vegetable adult dog mix contains 23% protein. PLUS Kirkland has a HEART-HEALTHY mix of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. And, Kirkland's adult dog food contains a JOINT-HEALTHY mix of Glucosamine and Chondroitin sulfate. The girl was younger when we got her at 7 weeks. I am glad we got her off the Kirkland in a short time. First day we got her, she was throwing up and diarrhea, and itching so bad and she also refused the old puppy food right away and now she is playing with the male puppy who is a month older...and her stools are normal. They eat different portions for their age and get controlled amount of healthy treats and I know I will never buy a bag of Kirkland's puppy or dog food.So when me and my boyfriend first decided we wanted to get a puppy, we searched long and hard for the perfect puppy. Finally, me and my boyfriend found the most adorable little Shiba Inu back in September 2014. When we bought Mirza (our puppy's name), the breeder was using the Kirkland puppy dog food. When we brought him home we decided to just continue giving him the same food. Everything was going well, and when he got older we switched him to the lamb and brown rice adult food. He loved his food, he was always so excited to eat, until his appetite changed. I started noticing at the beginning of May 2015 that my Shiba was no longer his energetic self. He was sleeping all day, wouldn't eat and had really made diarrhea. My boyfriend and I were really worried because we thought that maybe he had worms. I have been a loyal customer of Costco for several years and have never had a problem with the Kirkland brand. When the we got our Australian Shepherd puppy the breeder and several friends recommended Kirkland brand puppy and dog food. Our dog was on it since she was 8 weeks old and is now 1 1/2 years. All of a sudden in November, she came down with intermittent bloody diarrhea, vomiting, and lethargy. Since it would come and go, we thought she was just getting into something outside she wasn't supposed to be in but it continued to get worse. We took her to the vet and they placed her on probiotics, antacid and to see if it corrects the symptoms.
