When treating your dog with K9 Advantix® II, we recommend using Hypo-Allergenic Shampoo when bathing your dog.
3 days ago we found our mini schnauzer (25lbs.) had a few fleas crawling on him. He had no flea bites that we could see. We bathed him, and applied K9 Advantix II for 21-55 lb. Dogs. 3 days have passed. He has about 5 flea bites that we can see, and whenever we check him we are able to see a couple of fleas. 1) at what point should we stop seeing fleas? 2) can we apply a second dose of advantix, and how soon? 3) Since I am seeing 1-2 fleas at a time would that be indicative of a flea problem in the house? Thanks in adavnce!!
I have two German Shepherd Mix dogs. One is 56 lbs, one is 50 lbs. I have a few questions. 1) Should I dose them both at the up to 55lbs, or the 56 lb dog at the 55+ lbs dose or…? 2) I just moved to Florida from MN and have never dealt with fleas before. I bathed them in a flea and tick shampoo about two hours before applying K9 Advantix II. Is it still effective? I have picked about 20 fleas off of each them today, which is almost a week after application. When can I apply another dose? 3) How do I treat the home/yard? I know this is an important step, yet I haven’t heard a safe solution. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

K9 Advantix II is waterproof, so there's no need to reapply after your dog has a bath or goes for a swim. Studies show that dogs are still protected against parasites after exposure to water, though for best results, dogs treated with K9 Advantix II should be bathed with a non-detergent shampoo.Does your dog love the water? No problem! K9 Advantix® II is waterproof. Studies have shown your dog will still be protected after exposure to waterwhether your dog has gone for a swim, has been given a bath or has been in the rain.2 This waterproof protection can be used on puppies as young as seven weeks of age.Make sure your dog hasn't been bathed in the four to five days preceding your application of the K9 Advantix II. The product works by sinking into the subcutaneous layer of fat on the dog; if you bathe the dog right before applying it, the dog's skin doesn't have the chance to build up the fat layer sufficiently for the product to work well. Your dog needs to be standing during the application; if necessary, put him on a or have someone hold him. Apply the product down his spine, starting at his shoulders and working back to his tail. Use a to part his hair until you can see the skin, then squeeze out a little ointment, touching the tube directly to his skin. Don't apply ointment anywhere your dog can lick.ANGELWENDYMAMA is very worried about my dog. I just realized she's having a bad reaction to the flea medicine - K9 Advantix II. She's got hair loss and burned skin at the application spots. Emergency bath done.
