A couple of things that concern me are heat lamps and tightly sealed dog houses. Heat lamps can get very hot and burn things down. Be careful when using them. The homemade dog houses are fine but make sure you have a small vent on it. I've had and seen houses that were so tight that I had condensation on the inside of the house in these extreme cold conditions.
